Editorial Policy

How the site separates observed facts, interpretation, marketplace claims and affiliate revenue.

Evidence hierarchy

  1. Direct observation of the object and its construction.
  2. Primary documents and period photographs.
  3. Museum, archive and established specialist references.
  4. Documented collections and transparent expert analysis.
  5. Marketplace descriptions and anonymous claims.

Corrections

Material identifications can change as better photographs, documents or comparisons appear. Corrections should explain what changed and why.

Commercial separation

Affiliate revenue does not determine whether an object is described as authentic, valuable or desirable. Marketplace links are research and shopping routes, not endorsements of individual sellers.
